SHADOW THEATRE WORKSHOP • for children and adults
Led by renowned artists Andrej Štularj and Petra Stare, we will explore the world of shadows, puppets and storytelling. Participants will create puppets, learn various shadow theatre techniques, and collaboratively produce a performance. The script will be developed under the guidance of wordsmith Andrej Bašič drawing inspiration from nature and ancient folk tales from the Tolmin region.
The workshop is open to everyone interested in theatre, visual storytelling and hands-on creativity.
MOVEMENT AND SOUND WORKSHOP • for children and adults
Join us for a creative music and movement workshop led by Doroteja benedejčič, whose work explores the integration of sound, movement and speech within each participant's creative process.
Together we will learn a traditional folk melody, develop sound accompaniments and movement motifs through play, and create our own audiovisual accompaniment for the puppet performance.
AT THE END OF THE FESTIVAL WE WILL PRESENT A PERFORMANCE CREATED THROUGH THE WORK DONE IN THE WORKSHOPS.
SINGING WORKSHOP
The singing workshop will be led by Metka Knap and Josip Kramar (Izpod Korenin). Schedule by arrangement.
IZPOD KORENIN
Along the axis of time and the universe, the duo Izpod korenin (Metka Knap in Josip Kramar) explores South Slavic folk music with remarkable sensitivity. Their interpretations emphasize simple two-part harmonies, awakening memories of a time when the world was more organic and human culture could truly reflect it. They perform on traditional instruments such as the Macedonian kemene and the tamburica, accompanied by simple percussion instruments from the Middle East. Through their music, they pay tribute to rich traditions while gently dissolving geographical and cultural boundaries.
